Charlotte's A2 Media

The Tomboy
We have selected Charlotte as the tomboy character and lead singer. Reasons for this decision are that she is a member of our group and so will definately do everything she can to film whenever it is that we need to and will do her best to make it look good. Also, she is a high grade drama student and so has the confidence and skills to act well (especially important as this is a narrative video). She has the ability to transform from tomboy - as she is very sporty being a member of most sport teams at school and a cricketer - to girly, as she has long hair and lots of dresses for going out etc.

The Bitch

The reason that we chose Lauren for this character was similar to Charlotte in that she is a member of the group and will therefore definately be dedicated and make herself avaliable for filming where possible. This is obviously very important as we do have a limited amount of time to film and as we learnt from the Britney video, each shot can take a lot longer than expected. Also, the fact that she has long blonde straight hair and a large collection of heels and dresses means that she can easily be transformed into the character of a stereotypical popular girl. Again, the same a Charlotte, Lauren is a high grade drama student and so acting should be no problem for her.








The Geek and The Jock
Oli B (Left) and Olly S (Right) were our final choices for the jock and geek roles in the music video. However, we then realised that it is quite difficult to decide which of the boys will play which part. Our reasons for having Oli B as the Geek were that he took drama and the geek would need better acting skills. Also because his ability to transform into the character with the appropriate costume was very good. Reasons for him to be the jock was that he has a bigger build than Olly S and that is quite stereotypical of a jock, as they are more muscley and sporty. Saying that Olly S would be good as the jock as we feel he is slightly better looking and is quite sporty, as a jock would be.Both of the boys have agreed to put their spare time into the filming of the video and are both confident enough to be able to act the piece well and so we are happy with our choices here. Our final decision is that Oli B will play the geek and Olly S will play the jock.

Casting Changes
Charlotte (Lead Singer and Tomboy character) has unfortunately broken her arm and we feel that this would not only make filming uncomfortable for her but also create the wrong image for her video. We tried our best to work out ways to cover the arm whilst filming but feel that this would look strange. We are therefore in the process of looking for a new lead singer.

1st Change
Our reasons behind choosing Becci is because she too is a group member and would therefore be reliable throughout the filming process. Eleanor however, is a high grade drama student which would probably benefit the narrative side of the video. Both of the girls have both tomboy and girly costumes that could be worn during the video and therefore we have decided to do some test shots in order to see who would be best for the role.

2nd Change
After shooting the test shots we have decided that Eleanor will be perfect for the lead singer role as her drama background will make the shots easier to shoot and probably more interesting too.

Final Casting
Final character choices are:

Tomboy (lead singer) played by Eleanor
Popular/bitch girl played by Lauren
Geek played by Oli B
Jock played by Olly S

All members of the group are confident that these were the right choices and so we can start filming the actual music video now.
